<sigh> Just saying. The artist formerly known as 'White Hate' is the not used to being the fucking voice of moderation and reason.
Now, I would simply like to suggest that the most effective placement of the jumbotron would be someplace where it could provide a better view of the race for folks who are in the chute area.
Everyone cool with that?
We appear to be dealing with some limitations for the system. Due to cabling constraints the system will need to be located 'outside' of the course. There may be length of cabling constraints as well. Anyone have any data on that? Is there a base point from which the system cannot be XX(X?X?) feet away from?
Additionally I would think that placement should be someplace where it serves the most fans, displaces the least fans, and does not contribute to a glut of fans in a 'bad' spot where they could be a safety hazard or interfere with the race (Hill 3 pusher seeing his/her buggy).
Everyone cool with that summary?
Now, based on that summary I would say that having the jumbotron as far away from Scaife and as close to the barricades at the end of whatever the name of that bridge is would be optimal as it would serve anyone on the inside of the chute, would displace few folks (I think, right?), and would hopefully encourage folks to watch from the inside of the chute where they would, hopefully, be less likely to step out into the course (folks being, in general, more hesitant to step out into a real road than wander across Frew).
So a few things come to mind with this plan. 1) Need to know if it's feasible based on cabling constraints. 2) Flaggers would be able to watch the jumbotron.
Does anyone have any thoughts or proposals?
