To debunk the Cook's statement a little ... South facing isn't as bad as East facing between the hours of 8-11 when we have these races.

Locations 3 and 4 are garbage on a sunny day.
Trees lining the course could provide some shading in location 2 (but also obscure some view angles) and the more south it faces the better.
Location 5 is best the more north it faces, but too much could tempt chutegazers on the inside bales to hop over and sneak peaks. Adjacent shitapple tree could help, so could a hood.
For sun considerations the best location would be inside the chute, right where they dug that annoying trench across the road (anybody wanna help me lay some pipe?)
