Intrepid v1.0 1972

Intrepid v 1.0 was designed and built by Robert Thomas in 1972, following in the footsteps of the short-lived buggy 2024. In its original incarnation, it had a full fiberglas body and featured a unusual all-wheel steering system, using single pivots on both front and rear axles connected by "crossover" linkages so both axles moved in equal but opposite directions based on the driver's steering input.. It was an innovative idea that was less than fully practical. Submitted by Douglas Harrigan SAE '79
