{"id":6175,"date":"2020-01-25T13:24:09","date_gmt":"2020-01-25T17:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/?page_id=6175"},"modified":"2025-05-15T15:45:22","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T19:45:22","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About Us"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Founding Story<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Carnegie Mellon Buggy Alumni Association was founded in the summer of 2008 after it became clear that there was both a need and an interest in an organization centered around buggy for all members of the buggy world, past and present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The founding members defined 5 goals to guide the organization&#8217;s efforts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preserve and make accessible the history of the sport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a channel by which alumni can remain connected to and support the sport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support and improve undergraduate participation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve relations and raise interest in the greater Pittsburgh community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unite alumni across organizations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are we?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We are an Alumni Interest Group from Carnegie Mellon University. That means we are non-profit, officially recognized by Carnegie Mellon, and generally based in Pittsburgh. We are open to anyone who is interested in buggy; you need not be a &#8220;Buggy Alumni&#8221; to get involved.
