{"id":1654,"date":"2011-09-14T11:29:31","date_gmt":"2011-09-14T15:29:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/?p=1654"},"modified":"2023-09-03T08:10:11","modified_gmt":"2023-09-03T13:10:11","slug":"rolls-set-to-start-sunday-here-we-go-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/2011\/09\/rolls-set-to-start-sunday-here-we-go-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Rolls set to start Sunday, here we go again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"fall rolls\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/2010-2011\/Fall-Rolls-Oct-16\/i-ZvF66TP\/0\/fa61dce4\/Th\/DSC_6376-Th.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>It&#8217;s that time of year again at the corner of Tech and Frew. \u00a0The permits are in and this Sunday the 18th is the first potential day of rolls. \u00a0The chairmen have been meeting for weeks, the drivers have had their meetings, and at least a few teams have their capes taken care of. \u00a0Currently these are the teams in the mix:<\/p>\n<p>Ready to roll: CIA, Fringe, SDC, SigEp<br \/>\nCapes scheduled: \u00a0AEPi,\u00a0KapSig,\u00a0Spirit<br \/>\nStatus unknown: \u00a0DTD\/TriDelt, PiKA, Pioneers, SAE, SigNu<\/p>\n<p>Those ranks are looking a little thin if the status-unknown crowd doesn&#8217;t show up soon. \u00a0Last year started with 8 orgs, so 7 isn&#8217;t that big of a drop but it&#8217;s the wrong direction for sure. \u00a0The schedule of fall freerolls is extensive though, so there&#8217;s time for the stragglers to get out.<\/p>\n<p>Here at BAA headquarters, we&#8217;re preparing for another year of covering the buggy news you crave and generally putting the rest of the internet to shame. \u00a0Our #1 goal while we do that this fall is to get more people involved. \u00a0Personally, I&#8217;m about to (finally) finish grad school and it&#8217;s possible this is my last year in Pittsburgh. \u00a0Even this year, I will be missing a lot of weekends while I look for jobs. \u00a0The point being, I won&#8217;t be able to do rolls reports for much longer. \u00a0It is time to groom new buggy correspondents.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"in a tree\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/2009-2010\/Spring-Rolls-Mar-28\/i-9GbFCcH\/0\/b0b09ad6\/Th\/DSCF4794-Th.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>The job is fun and there&#8217;s no reason it needs to be done by one person. \u00a0I&#8217;m willing to pass on whatever I know, but anyone who&#8217;s willing should feel free to put their own mark on it. \u00a0For starters, here are the scheduled days this fall:<\/p>\n<pre>09-18\tRolling\t7:03\n09-24\tRolling\t7:09 [Coverage Needed]\n09-25\tNo Rolls\n10-01\tRolling\t7:16\n10-02\tRolling\t7:17\n10-08\tRolling\t7:23 [Coverage Needed]\n10-09\tRolling\t7:24 [Coverage Needed]\n10-15\tRolling\t7:30\n10-16\tRolling\t7:31\n10-22\tRolling\t7:38 (midsemester break)\n10-23\tRolling\t7:39 (midsemester break)\n10-29\tRolling\t7:45\n10-30\tRolling\t7:47 (Halloween)\n11-05\tRolling\t7:54 [Coverage Needed]\n11-06\tRolling\t6:55 [Coverage Needed]\n11-12\tRolling\t7:02\n11-13\tRolling\t7:03\n11-19\tRolling\t7:10\n11-20\tRolling\t7:11<\/pre>\n<p>So, who out there wants to volunteer to cover one or more of the days\/weekends?
