border-color: initial;\" title=\"snowybuggy\" src=\"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/snowybuggy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"727\" height=\"296\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/snowybuggy.jpg 898w, https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/snowybuggy-300x122.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a>Classes are back in session, the (so far, mild) winter is moving right along, teams are presumably hard at work in their garages getting into the meat of their 2012 builds. \u00a0For alumni who aren&#8217;t taking classes, mostly stay inside, and don&#8217;t get to build buggies anymore this can be a bit of a slow time. \u00a0Once it gets going though, it all happens real fast, so we&#8217;re doing a bit of thinking ahead now.<\/p>\n<p>For starters, the rolls schedule for this semester has been updated and can now be perused on the front page. \u00a0The first weekend of rolls is tentatively Feb. 4th and 5th which is just under 3 weeks away. \u00a0This of course is always at the mercy of the Pittsburgh weather; recent actual first days of rolls have been later:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2009 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/2009\/03\/freeroll-practice-22809\/\">Feb 28th<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2010 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/2010\/03\/rolls-report-first-rolls-of-2010\/\">March 14th<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2011 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/2011\/02\/welcome-back-to-buggy-rolls-report-219\/\">Feb 19th<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Here at the BAA headquarters, we&#8217;re shaking off the off-season rust and setting up for what we want to do this spring. \u00a0We&#8217;ll be posting more details on each of these, but to just to set the stage &#8230;<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/cmubuggy\/comments\/j7ut9\">Sponsorships for Jumbotrons<\/a> &#8212; Those 15&#8242; screens don&#8217;t come cheap, and our lead-truck auction raises just a piece of the funds needed. \u00a0Surely our network of alumni know companies that might want to have an ad next to the screen, right?<\/li>\n<li>Timing system &#8212; For the <a href=\"https:\/\/cmubuggy.org\/news\/2010\/02\/raceday-timing-system-upgrade\/\">past two years<\/a> we&#8217;ve supported Sweepstakes&#8217; upgrade to digital photofinish timing on raceday, first with cash then with manpower and know-how. \u00a0We need to consider whether we can help improve the system further and make sure we&#8217;re spreading and documenting the knowledge of how to operate it.<\/li>\n<li>Succession plan &#8212; The BAA committee is likely to see some turnover soon so we need to be looking to recruit new talent and get a workable policy in place for leadership changes and division of labor.<\/li>\n<li>Website improvements &#8212; This is always on my list. \u00a0I&#8217;ve got some things in the works. \u00a0Anyone else is free to <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/swiftsam\/cmubuggy.org\/issues?sort=created&amp;direction=desc&amp;state=open\">help or point out bugs<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Now is the time to suggest things that the BAA could or should be doing to make buggy bigger and better, do it!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>As if all of that wasn&#8217;t enough for the first post of 2o12, AEPi alum and BAA member Bryan Arsham just posted a couple of buggy-themed covers that ought to keep \u00a0you in the buggy spirit through the long dark nights until rolls start. \u00a0Without further ado &#8230;<!--more--><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Buggy Chair&#8221;
