New Website!

Postby swiftsam » Fri Apr 08, 2011 3:59 pm

It's up! Better late than never right? At least we got it up before raceday. That said, it was a bit of a rush, so I'm sure there are rough edges. Let us know in this thread when you find them. Reviews, opinions, comments, feedback, etc etc

Awesome! looks really nice. And thanks for givin us a few days before raceday madness to get used to it/break it in.

The only thing I miss about the old site is that on the old forums I could click the 'unread post' icon, and go straight to that first unread post. I know nothing about forum structure/making/management, but if that could somehow be added to the shiny new stuff it'd be awesomesauce.

looks great! :)

Couple problems I've found so far (using chrome):

It didn't seem like the search function works to find people, can type in a name, but doesn't seem to do anything from that point.

And alot of the org history is weird, for example the fringe record for D team is listed as 2008, when the team didn't get the buggy out on time. And ZBT-Kappa has their women's time listed as men's c or atleast it looks that way from the column spacing.

Looks great though, keep up the good work.

Yeah so the search problem that Barnaby mentioned also exists for Firefox and it also applies for searching for buggies.

That said I really like the new history section. I especially enjoy the attempt to get raceday video up there.

Awesome new site, Sam! I can't imagine the amount of work you've put into this instead of your dissertation.

The Organization/Records tab output is wrong in many cases (Spirit, PiKA, Fringe, CIA to name a few.) I vote for this as #1 priority for raceday for the home audience.

Really minor stuff:
No design trophy count on the Orgs/Trophies tab? (At least my Spirit of Buggy made it.) :geek:

Could you have the "Make a Gift" link open in a new tab?

It seems that the records page is less comprehensive and I miss the recent comments and newest pictures links in the gallery. Also, out of curiosity is there going to be a truck auction this year? Or are you waiting till after heat selection?

Money Dude! The search by buggy is awesome! All the race videos with the buggy name tagged?!?! Now I'm going to get fired for sure!

+1

Also the link to the gallery associated with the news summary for each weekend's rolls does not seem to be functional, though I only tried the last two.
