Ha ha ha. That reminds me of this funny story. I forget exactly how it goes, but the basic premise is a guy telling his wife he wants to go to Akron one weekend in July while forgetting that their wedding anniversary is that weekend. Hilarious stuff. I'd go into more detail but it's hard typing with two broken thumbs.

The race was last weekend. Many young (at least to me) SDC types were there as well as McCue. The cook reigned, record broken, the rest of us spanked. 'PKA wheels' are no longer the big guns at the derby. Ugly combo of fringe meet KDR on one fo the cars. Photos up in the gallery.

This does deserve a full post that I (shockingly) don't have time for at work. I have all the pictures I took uploaded, I just have to sort through and put the best looking and least obnoxious ones in the gallery.

Saying PKA wheels are no longer the big guns is slightly disingenuous though -- they beat every car but one, and lost to that one by something like .063 seconds, yeah? Were the field so saturated with those wheels, more would likely show up in the top spots. It is fair to say that there are better wheels, however.

I found the KDR/Fringe combo aesthetically lovely, although I was slightly disappointed about the speed. Good thing in buggy there's an uphill part.
