Light colored buggy is a Beta buggy, possibly POS (note steeply cambered wheels -- 825 and Echo had less or zero camber).

The dark colored buggy is positively the SAE "Intrepid."

It appears to be just after the Hill 1/2 exchange has taken place. Note the shoulder and leg of the SAE Hill #1 pusher visible just behind the Hill#2 pusher.

    I'm guessing this is mid-to-late '70s...

SAE pusher is Dan McGrath, guessing 1977 or 78, suspect hill one is Don Miller

    Ahhh... Heat 3 1978 Prelims.

Beta C lane #1, SAE B lane #2, SDC C, lane #3 (not visible) , according to the 1978 Buggy Book.
